GPS track: Long Blood mountain loop

Postby DougL on Wed May 21, 2008 9:29 pm

In another thread someone mentioned exchanging GPS tracks. I think this sounds like a good way to find a new hike or at least a different twist on a common one. If anyone would like the actual track send me an email.

This is one is a twist on what has to be the most common hike in GA, Blood mountain. I went over the mountain, down the Slaughter creek trail to lake Winfield Scott, up the Jarrad gap trail and then back over the mountain. It adds up to about 11.5 miles and 3000 feet of elevation gain. The loop makes it more interesting and going over Blood mountain twice makes it a little more challenging than taking the Freeman trail.
