Learn to hanglide anyone?

Postby pumpiron on Tue Apr 01, 2008 8:27 pm

I am working out the details with a hangliding school for a weekend class May 10 and 11th. We would camp there Friday night (or Saturday morning) through Sunday. They are giving us a great discount (I will have more details Thursday).

This is a class to actually learn to hanglide on your own. anyone interested let me know. I will have the rest of the details available by Friday.

That is Mother's Day Weekend, but the idea of a weekend of hangliding sounds awesome!

Thanks Patrick. We did not realize that. I will talk with my group this evening and see if we can reschedule it.

Hi Pete,
I'm leading a hang gliding and camping trip sometime in early July or mid to late August. It's going to be tandem, just like what I did last summer.

I figured you would be Michelle. This is gonna be a bit different from your trip. It will be a 2 day class on flying solo. There will be some tandem flights in the training class.

I spoke with the people goin with me and we have rescheduled to July 26 and 27. We will probably drive up Friday night and will be camping/grilling out all weekend. Dan is gonna get me the prices confirmed tomorrow.

Weekend will include:
Beginning Ground Schools
20 Training Hill Flights
2 Tandem Aerotow Instructional Flights To 2,000 Feet
Lots of grilling out and BBQ (maybe a little beer???)

Anyone who wants to go with us let me know. We are gonna have a funfilled weekend with it. I will post this as a non-AOC event once Dan and I work out the logistics.

I hope it won't interfere with your event Michelle.

I figured you would be Michelle. This will be a little different than your trip. We will be spending the weekend learning to hangglide. Working out prices with Dan right now.

We rescheduled to July 26-27. We will drive up Friday and camp for the weekend. We will be bringing a grill and lots of food and entertainment.

Weekend will include ground school
20 solo hill flights
2 tandem flights to 2000 ft.
Grilling and camping out with an awesome group of people.

I hope it will not conflict with your event Michelle. Once Dan and I work out the details I will post this event on the Non-AOC posting.

Anyone who is interested in coming up with us let me know.

I'm glad to know you're going to do the tandem flights again, Michelle. I was really sorry to have missed the last trip!

I'm leaning towards Aug. 23rd weekend. There will be some tandem hang gliding, camping, pool, bath house facilities, $5 donation dinner (w/ maybe a keg like we had last year)...whoo hoo. :D
