being that we're outdoorsy people, i'm going to assume that most, if not all of us have a decent respect for nature and environmental conservation. Treehugger.com is a blog about all things green.

they've got guides on how to reduce your environmental impact, news posts and links about all things environmental, and they've even got a job board (green-related jobs, of course).

from their site:
TreeHugger is the leading media outlet dedicated to driving sustainability mainstream. Partial to a modern aesthetic, we strive to be a one-stop shop for green news, solutions, and product information. At TreeHugger we know that variety is the spice of life, so you can find all you need to go green in our up to the minute blog, weekly and daily newsletters, weekly video segments, weekly radio show and our user-generated blog, Hugg. We also extend our expertise to companies looking for a little green guidance. Past clients include Domino, Sundance Channel and House & Garden.

so get going, and learn something new:

they also have a sister site, Planet Green: http://planetgreen.discovery.com/

Created by the same savvy folk who brought you the award-winning TreeHugger, Planet Green is your user's guide to living mindfully on this big blue marble we all call home. Our experts will help you navigate the oftentimes confusing sea of options available to help you detox your home, life, and planet—without the jargon or the guilt trips—so you can start being the change you wish to see in the world.
eventually there will be something witty here, but, for now, just pretend that one of the most clever and/or amusing things you've ever read is written here instead of this.

I like what the websites are about... should the AOC do more to make a difference with the environment? What about participating in Earth Day or recycling day or something?

there are trail maintenance days that some of our event coordinators set up, but there isn't really a push in the club to take part in specific "environmental protection" or clean-up events. it might not be a bad idea to look into it though. i mean, we do try to be environmentally conscious as a club, but i don't recall many (any?) events specific to the environment. not a bad idea though...

here is another two websites:
