forum link on website

Postby ucfhocky55 on Thu Jan 24, 2008 6:22 pm

there needs to be a prominent link on the AOC website that can guide members to this forum. word-of-mouth just isn't going to cut it if we want people to come here.

next to the link should be a small note (maybe underneath it) that says, "Forum registration required."

it should be above the "Welcome to the Atlanta Outdoor Club" heading so people see it. it doesn't need to be huge, but it needs to be noticeable.
eventually there will be something witty here, but, for now, just pretend that one of the most clever and/or amusing things you've ever read is written here instead of this.

I agree, and maybe a Club wide email from our fearless Leader letting all the members know about it.

if the response from the general membership has is anything like the response from the volunteers, then this place will be jumping in no time...

it's a good start for sure. no reason not to post it up. i've got a couple ideas for the forum, but let's see how the general membership reacts. also, we need a good Terms of Use for the forums (if there isn't one already).

i can help with that too...

Perhaps not "required" ....people get a little antsy when you say they HAVE to do something...I'd say the last few days have shown that!

i just don't want to give people the impression that their AOC logins will work on the forum. i can only imagine all the support e-mails ben would get regarding that.

we can leave that part out, however, and put the notice at the top of the "How To Use This Forum" post if you'd rather...
