AOC Tri-Athlete team...

Postby pumpiron on Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:08 am

Is anyone interested in forming an AOC Triathlete team? Or just training together from time to time?

A few of us are looking into putting together a team to train together and work towards a goal together (Maybe the Ironman 70.3 next May in Orlando). Maybe just some smaller events. All interested let me know as well as if you are an experienced triathlete or just a beginner triathlete. If we have some experienced triathletes in the club maybe we could even set up a mentor program.

Team Triathalon

Postby korotw on Wed Aug 06, 2008 2:18 pm

Is anyone interested in a team triathalon? I have always wanted to do a triathalon, but I wanted to start smaller. My strength is swimming.

Ha! Funny, my weakness is swimming. Neithere one of us have ever done a triathlon yet. We have done some long distance cycling events and some long distance running events.

We have put the 2009 Ironman 70.3 in Augusta as our main goal. It is a halfironman. They are the 70.3 series now. We will be doing a few sprint triathlons along the way.

I will be competeing as a clydsdale. That is the class of people above 200lbs. We are not looking to do anything more than finish. If it takes us 15 hours then so be it. It will be all about the training the best we can. When time comes for the event it will be all about the accomplishment.

If you are interested in talking more just send me an email to pumpiron@live.com.

Hey,

I just noticed this thread. How's the training going for the 70.3? I just finished my second sprint-tri a few weeks ago and I'm looking at doing the Augusta 70.3 in fall of 2010. Let me know how it is.
